Hastings to Celebrate Life and Talent
of Award-Winning Actress Sandy Dennis

A full slate of activities is scheduled for the Sandy Dennis Festival—and all are open to the public:

Monday-Thursday • April 11-14 • 6-8 p.m.
Acting workshops led by actor/director/playwright Doug Taylor. A $60 advance registration required. Class size is limited to 14 participants, age 15 and older. Taylor is from Connecticut and has acted in numerous professional productions and directed more than 60 plays. He directed and performed with Sandy Dennis in Same Time, Next Year. He was the executor of her estate and edited her memoir that was published after her death. Hastings Community Theatre, 515 S. 4th Ave.

Monday-Friday • April 11-15
Textile/clay artist-in-residence Pam Dennis at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, the school that Sandy attended as a child. An Iowa artist, she is the niece of Sandy Dennis.

Friday • April 15 • 6:30 p.m.
A Tribute to the Life & Career of Sandy Dennis and premier performance of the Alleycats second-grade acting troupe from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Hastings Community Theatre, 515 S. 4th Ave. $10. Advance reservation preferred.

Saturday • April 16 • 2-4 p.m.
“Sandy’s Neighborhood” tour with Adams County Historical Society. Directions are available at Hastings Museum, 1330 N. Burlington. There is no charge for this tour.

Saturday • April 16 • 7:30 p.m.
Images Stored in Dusty Places, A one-act play based on Sandy’s memoir directed by Doug Taylor. Dessert reception following. Hastings Community Theatre, 515 S. 4th Ave. Tickets $10. Advance reservation preferred.

Sunday • April 17 • 2 p.m.
FREE MOVIE starring Sandy Dennis shown at the Rivoli Theatre, 528 W. 2nd St.
